Dec. 21 - May 1 Admissions decision

Notification of admissions decisions begin on Dec. 21 and continues on a rolling basis. In order to secure a space with the university, the Enrollment Reservation and Mandatory Orientation Deposit is due by May 1, 2017 (refer to your letter of admission for due date.)

Complete your reservation with SSU

Complete your reservation by purchasing Package 1 or 2 when you log onto your MySSU Online Services account. After purchase, finalize your Admissions acceptance through MySSU.

Refund Information: If you change your mind about attending Sonoma State University, you must notify the University in writing in order to receive a refund. The Enrollment Reservation and Campus Housing Down Payment are 50% refundable until June 15, 2017 ONLY if requested in writing prior to your selected orientation date. The fee is non-refundable if the orientation date you signed up for has passed, you attended the session, OR an orientation refund is requested after June 15, 2017. Email your refund request to seawolf.servicecenter@sonoma.edu.

Beginning Dec. 21 Select your Summer Orientation Date

After completing your reservation by purchasing Package 1 or 2, log into your MySSU account to select a specific orientation session date. You can do this starting December 21. Dec. 1 - Ongoing Apply for campus housing by paying Housing down payment

To apply for campus housing, purchase Package 1 via your MySSU Online Services account. Payment date establishes housing priority. Housing down payment does not guarantee a space or specific assignment. Housing is in high demand and space fills quickly. A waitlist will be started once housing is full.

*If you plan to make the housing down payment after purchasing the ERD/Orientation, please contact Housing Services at (707) 664-2541.

Oct. 1 - March 2 Submit Financial Aid application and materials

The application process is free. The first step in applying for financial aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Application (Dream App) using SSU's school code of 001156. If you are a US citizen or permanent resident, complete the FAFSA online at FAFSA. Otherwise, complete the Dream App at Dream App. Read more at Financial Aid

Jan. 1 - May 4 Take placement tests

We strongly encourage you to take your English Placement Test (EPT) and/or Entry Level Mathematics Test (ELM) as early as possible. There will be two early test administrations on Nov. 19, 2017 and Dec. 10, 2017. You must sign up for the last test date on May 21 by May 9, 2017. Results are due prior to attending New Student Orientation, unless you are exempt. Your letter of admission explains which test you may be required to take. Look up when the exams are being offered @ SSU Testing. Sign up for a EPT and/or ELM test @ EPT/ELM Registration.

Scholarship materials due 

For Academic Year 2017-2018. Scholarships range from $500 to $5000 per year. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater to apply for this program. Read more @ SSU Scholarship

March 1 - Ongoing Accept campus housing offere and choose a living community   

Campus housing offers are sent electronically on a space available basis. Accept your offer to live on-campus and choose a living community by the designated deadline on your offer email. Living communities do fill up quickly. Read more @ Housing

March 1 - May 15 Select an Academic Freshman Learning Community (FLC)

Review information about My First Year at SSU. Freshmen are required to participate in one of the Freshman Academic Learning Communities. Some FLCs are linked to specific Housing Living Communities if you are living on-campus. Go to Freshman Learning Communities to learn about the different options.

March 1 - June 1 Take the CIRP Freshman Survey

Email regarding access to the CIRP Freshman Survey will be sent from CIRPFreshmanSurvey@datarecognitioncorp.com. Please adjust your approved sender list accordingly.  For additional information, read more at: CIRP

March 30 - July 15 Submit mandatory immunization records

All entering students must send copies of official immunization records showing they have received the required 2 dose series of Measles/Rubella (MMR) vaccine to the SSU Office of Admissions and Records prior to enrolling at SSU. Those who will be under age 19 on Aug. 22, 2017 must also send records showing they have received the required series of 3 doses of Hepatitis B vaccine. Compliance is a mandatory condition of enrollment and should be completed no later than July 15, 2017. Students unable to locate immunization records may send copies of blood test results confirming immunity to the diseases prevented by the required vaccines.

Students who do not comply with this pre-enrollment requirement on time will have a Hold on their ability to register for classes and are subject to other late compliance penalties. The CSU is considering adding additional immunizations to this requirement. See the above immunization requirements link for details - in the frequently asked questions section.

April 8 SSU Seawolf Decision Day

Seawolf Decision Day is an open house for Fall 2017 admitted students. Come join us for Seawolf Decision Day and take a look at our campus, attend workshops, meet our faculty, staff and students, attend a campus fair, talk with your major departments, see student performances, and find out if SSU is the place for you! April 1 Register for Early Start Program

If it is determined via placement tests that you need remediation in English and/or math, you must participate in the mandatory Early Start Program to address this remediation. Read more @ Early Start Program

June 3-30    Attend mandatory Freshman Orientation

New Student Orientation is a mandatory program for all students in order to register for courses. Read more @ Freshman Orientation

Aug. 12    Pay your mandatory registration charges 

If you begin the registration process from July 31 - Aug. 11 you must pay your mandatory registration charges by Aug. 12, 2017. Even if schedule changes are planned, you must complete the registration process by paying the mandatory registration charges or an automatic disenrollment process will occur.

Financial Aid Students: If you have applied for financial aid and have received an offer from our Financial Aid Office by Aug. 12, 2017, in an amount sufficient to cover your semester mandatory registration charges, the payment of your mandatory registration charges will be deferred until your first disbursement for Fall 2017. You will NOT be disenrolled. If you file your FAFSA after July 1, 2017, you must front your Fall mandatory registration charges or your classes will be dropped in August .

July 10 Submit final transcripts

Your offer of admission is contingent upon you meeting the specific admissions requirements outlined on your admission letter. It is mandatory that your final high school transcript with the graduation date posted is received in the Office of Admissions by July 10, 2017. Failure to submit your final high school transcript by the deadline will void your offer of admission. Request that all your Official Transcripts be mailed to:

Aug. 19-20 Move-In Weekend

Aug. 16 - Sep. 5 Late Registration You can still register during the late registration/add/drop period. Be sure to pay any associated student charges/fees no later than Sep. 5; registration is not complete without final registration payment. Make payment @ MySSU
